VUNA International is the creation of a join initiative between The Pokot Mission Project and Isaiah 58.
The Pokot Mission Project was created by a team of Adventist Christian professionals in the U.S. and Kenya (in partnership with World Vision Kolowa IPA and A.L.I.V.E. Kenya) to help provide free medical and spiritual programs to communities in East Pokot. We were created in December 2013.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good, and what does the LORD require of you? To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God" Micah 6:8
Our mission is to empower isolated communities by developing contextualized programming to facilitate locally sustainable humanitarian relief.
OUR VALUES
I. The Word of God - We strongly believe the truth that is presented in the Bible and applied by the Holy Spirit, the only source of spiritual transformation and fulfilling life.
II. Cultural Relevance - We believe that innovation and creativity are two key attributes that allow us to effectively communicate the timeless and unchangeable truths of The Bible and health principles. We have found the best way to do this is through working and aiding local community leaders make use of the resources available in their community. We also acknowledge cultural diversity and that every culture has it's own weaknesses and strengths including our own.
III. Acceptance - We believe that people tend to grow and respond in a gracious and loving atmosphere. We invite all volunteers regardless of their backgrounds as long as they will comply with the principles by which our programs are established. We believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their background. It is their fundamental right.
IV. Stewardship - We currently use the resources we have for projects in Africa. While there are many un-entered areas in the world, our limited resources currently permit us to only channel; funds to a selected few and then expand across Africa.
V. Partnership - We believe in having greater impact while partnering with other organizations and institutions as per the agreement in order to advance our cause.
