Mission Dates: July 5 - July 21, 2016
Mission Location: Kapunyany, East Pokot in Kenya
Summary of Mission Plan:
Kapunyany is located in the Kolowa division of Baringo county, Kenya. This year, with health and sanitation as our focus, we will be having a medical clinic, ah evangelistic series and a vacation bible school (VBS) program planned.
*UPDATED* Mission Goals (as of May 2016):
In the past few years, we have conducted a week long medical camp with a VBS component. This year, we wanted to approach the local health department to partner with them to ensure sustainability of the medical camp and dispensary, but because of our smaller-than-expected participant pool, we have scaled down on the mission.
Evangelistic Series - Supported and funded by the North Rift Seventh-day Adventist Conference of Kenya. The series will take place every evening, and all the participants will be chosen and supported by the local conference.

Health
Program - Supported by The Days for Girls International Organization (Dfg). An
organization whose mission is to “Create a more dignified, free and educated
world through access to lasting feminine hygiene" [http://www.daysforgirls.org/solutions]. This project will be funded by
The Cambridge SDA Women's Ministry from Massachusetts. We will order 200 kits and
distribute to young girls entering puberty. Lessons will be presented to help girls
better understand their bodies and safe hygiene practices.
We will maximize the opportunity by reaching out to students at Kapunyany
Primary School, Kolowa High School and women in the community as organized by
the church and local chief.
VBS - We will also be coordinating a Vacation Bible school program to run alongside the evangelistic series.
Tutoring - We will also be seeking to provide free tutoring while at mission and also working on a partnership program so that this could continue after the mission is over.

The participation cost for the mission is $500 USD. This will cover all housing, ground transportation and daily meals for missionary applicants. All missionaries will be responsible for the cost of their own flights to and from Nairobi, Kenya.
